Picking Grapes in Sonoma County

As the fires from the North began to grow, we gathered the last of the Merlot and Cab grapes. Once removed from the stem they were added to 11 month old barrel aged saison.

Recently my friends at Leaky Barrel Cider Co. announced that their most recent release "Alrighty Then" would (most likely) be their last. To celebrate all they had accomplished, the folks at Redfield Cider Bar in Oakland poured every one of their releases. It was a packed house all night and a fitting farewell.

About Me

Tim Decker

In 2013 I starting working on my collaborative brewing project, AltBrau, and over the years I’ve created a variety of different types of content to share with my supporters. Starting in 2020 I want to share what I’ve learned with others.

I am a Certified Cicerone ® and BJCP Beer Judge with completed courses in Sensory Training from the Siebel Institute in Chicago. I have a BA degree in Communication from CSU Fresno and five years of experience in alcohol sales. I am currently a maltster and social media manager at Admiral Maltings in Alameda CA and contributor at Good Beer Hunting.
